These updates are for February 2026. Slowly, very slowly making more progress around here.
Added a Residents page to the Town.
This page was originally in my cottage, but since I’m restructuring I felt like it made a little more sense to be in the Town portion of my website. I noticed a couple people removed me, likely because my site has been a hot mess for a few months and my cottage subdomain is kind of hidden now from my primary. I think some folks assumed I removed them as neighbors, which isn’t the case. It’s just been a very slow update progression in moving things over.
The Free Speech Webring Has Moved.
This is the first major update I’ve done in awhile. I’ve fully migrated the Free Speech Webring over to my Sovereign Web subdomain. And, better yet, I’ve found a way to completely redirect the webring so that nobody needs to update their webring scripts. I wanted this transition to be as smooth for my members as possible, because the last major transition resulted in a loss of many members, either due to inactive webmasters or my announcement email going through, or maybe people didn’t want to be bothered. Could be a mixture of reasons that I can’t really say for sure because I don’t know. Regardless, I don’t want changes I make to my site to constantly affect other people so this seemed like the best route to go.
My Town Subdomain is deleted.
Another major update – now that I’ve moved my Free Speech Webring to my Sovereign Web subdomain, I’ve deleted all of my town’s files and added a subdomain redirect so if anyone tries to access something on that subdomain, it redirects to the Sovereign Web. This really felt like the best way to move forward now that I want to make more space on my server for other things. It’s a slow progression, but things are moving ahead as planned.
That’s pretty well it for February updates. Next big thing to tackle will be to move the content from my Library subdomain over to my primary domain, essentially doing the same thing I had done with my Town subdomain and the Free Speech Webring.
I miss working on this site a lot. I wish I had more time to do more around here and be more creative with it.
