My fellow Canadians, I present to you, something that might help in the coming months given the US tariff situation.

Buy local where you can too, support Canadian farmers. If you don’t go to the farmers market when it’s in season, start. This doesn’t have to be as big of a crisis if we shift our purchasing habits more local where we can, and more national in other areas.

Also, I’ll mention looking into getting a grow tower. I have one, they’re fantastic. It’s a hydroponic gardening tower you can set up inside your home. I used it all the time when we had a bigger apartment (currently in storage until we move again due to lack of space in our new apartment). You can grow lots of herbs and veggies in it and it will produce year round. I had arugula, rainbow chard, lettuce, peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro, basil, and a few other things all growing on it. The leafy greens I harvested daily for salads and they regrew faster than I could even consume them. This is where I bought it from. https://www.towergarden.com/#thecozycat It is a bit of a large upfront investment so you have to be pretty serious about wanting to save money in the long term, but it pays itself off imo in the reduction of grocery bills. Produce isn’t cheap these days.

The flex support cage is optional, but if you intend to grow produce that needs a little support, like tomatoes for example, you’ll want this.
