SOOOOOO tired, tomorrow we’re supposed to get a huge snow storm so pretty well the entire city was out today and I haven’t stopped since 9am. This is by far the busiest day I have ever worked in the history of ever, anywhere. And I’m going to have to do it again New Years Eve. Not excited. I’m off for the next several days now and we’ll be staying home Christmas Eve and Christmas day due to the storm. I’m excited to not have to go anywhere though for the next couple of days. We usually do our Christmas celebrations on Christmas Eve anyways so tomorrow morning we’ll open our gifts, watch Christmas movies and have a little Christmas dinner together. I’m excited to see Stewey open his stocking. He is always so excited to open it each year, it is so cute. Maybe this year I’ll record it and post it to my site. ♥

The other day we had our annual gingerbread house-making competition! My husband and I have made this one of our yearly holiday traditions and it is so much fun. Usually we place bets, and then after we’ve decorated our houses the best we can, we post pictures to social media and have our friends vote via Facebook post ‘reactions’ on which one they think is the best. It’s really a lot of fun. This year I made the one with the ‘care’ emoji, and my husband made the one with the ‘heart’ emoji. His was really creative, he put electronic tealight candles on the inside and made his like a log cabin. Loved his idea and didn’t think I’d win honestly, but mine ended up being this year’s winner. A lot of people liked the open door concept on mine with the little penguin.

Anyways, in other news unrelated to Christmas, I’ve started changing up some of my site’s graphics to screenshots I’ve taken of my dioramas in Tiny Glade! I’m absolutely obsessed with the game and can’t wait for future updates. I had someone leave a rude comment in my chatbox the other day about the AI art, and like, I get people don’t like AI art but at the same time, this is MY space. MY website. Don’t come in to *my* personal space and try and tell me what to do with it because AI art offends you. Just leave if you don’t like it. And at the very least before you open your mouth to be nasty, read my blogs. I’ve been saying for months my intentions are to move away from AI art and that the majority of images are placeholders, not meant to be permanent. It’s going to happen, but it’s not at the top of my priority list. There’s so much I’m working on with this website, and I’m in no rush to get anything done. It’s a hobby project, my passion project, and I’ll work on it when I feel like it and work on various parts of it when I feel like it. I have SEVERAL subdomains I work on with this site, and it’s a lot to keep all of them updated and maintained. I love it, but obviously, it takes me quite awhile to get around to working on various aspects of it. It’s not a small website anymore, it’s grown exponentially since I’ve started it. In addition to that, I’ve also taken on other responsibilities, such as 2 webrings and now a Facebook group and page that I’m trying to keep up with regularly posting to. It’s a lot, and I love doing it, but for real, anyone who wants to come on here and tell me how to run my own site, I’m going to tell you where to go real quick. There’s a lot I do for the Small Web community, but this will always be first and foremost my personal space. I do what I do for this community because I want to, not because I have to. I have no obligations to anybody, so have a little decency and be respectful when you come into my home on the internet.

Rant aside, I’ve also been trying to adjust the theme of my site a bit to be more of a winter-y theme. I’m trying to think of some colors I can keep year round that I don’t have to change with each color scheme, like font colors and such. I’ll have to brainstorm something because it takes quite a bit of time to re-theme every season as well and I’d like to not have to do that so much. Maybe I can get a theme toggle like I’ve seen some Neocities websites have. That would be useful.
