Also went to see It Ends With Us today! It was good, but I was a little disappointed to be honest. Having read the book, the movie just felt really rushed and lacked A LOT of emotional depth between Lily and Atlas. I feel like if they focused less on the spicier scenes that didn’t contribute much and more on Lily and Atlas’s background, maybe it could have been better. But I just didn’t feel connected to the characters or emotionally invested the way I felt in the book. One thing I do feel they did right though was how they touched on the topics of domestic violence and abuse. Those parts were rushed as well and not graphic, which I think we good. It gave the audience the point of what was going on without being hard to watch, so that was good I think. Overall, it was a good movie; not amazing, not great, just good. It’d probably be more enjoyable for those who didn’t read the book, but having read the book, I just feel like it could have been better executed to make a bigger emotional impact. So anyone who watched the movie and didn’t read the book, I highly recommend reading the book because you’ll likely love it even more than the movie.
