My husband brought home a small tub of mixed greens yesterday and I feel absolutely sick to my stomach. A small tub of mixed greens here is $9 now. The one he got was marked down to 50% off because it’s going to expire soon, so he paid about $4.50. Only 1-2 years ago, $4.50 was its regular price. Now $9 is the regular price. Let that really sink in. That’s the situation we’re dealing with here in Canada right now when it comes to groceries. 😔 And it’s only going to keep getting worse. We are moving to the countryside here in a few months hopefully, so when that happens we are going to start making an active effort to grow and preserve all of our own food. People here are going to have to, because very, very soon if things keep moving at this rate, we are not going to be able to afford basic necessities. 😔 We need to teach ourselves how to survive independent of the system.
