The more I explore and experiment with AI, the more freaked out I simultaneously become, because the realization sinks deeper that pretty soon there isn’t going to be a single thing that each of us has invested our livelihoods doing that AI won’t soon be able to do better than us. And yes, the ideal solution would be for all of humanity to reject it, but unfortunately, that is not happening, so what is our next step?
.
Ultimately, where I believe this is leading based on conversations I have listened to from people invested in these industries, the goal is to merge humanity with AI on a very physical level. Elon Musk’s Neuralink chips are the perfect example. And I think a good portion of humanity are pretty set on never doing that as of right now, but I also think many will give in and do it, especially when they are not able to survive without it. How do I know this? Because 2020-2022 was a great social experiment, and a lot of people cracked under pressure and compromised and got the covid jabs when they really didn’t want to as soon as it became inconvenient and their means of survival was threatened. People will crack under the pressure and merge with AI as well, but there will be people who are hellbent and stubborn like I am who absolutely will never bend. So what is our solution in the meantime to be able to survive the AI-pocolypse that’s arrived and slowly taking over everything? All of our jobs will soon be obsolete, so where does that leave us and determine how we can continue to make a living? People keep saying with the rise of AI will be the rise of new jobs… but honestly, what new jobs? No, seriously. What new jobs are we going to have that AI won’t eventually be able to do themselves and do better? I doubt there’s really much, if anything. So the next question is, because we’re reaching purely survival territory, is how can we utilize AI externally to work for us and create the best of the best? But also, how can we do it in such a way that everyone else can’t just do it too? The answer is bleak there as well, I don’t think there’s really any way to prevent that. For example, I see people constantly marketing courses on how to make courses with AI, and people bring up a good question in the comments, which is “why sell a course on how to make a course using AI when you could just ask ChatGPT to teach or make it for you?” – it’s a really great question. There’s no point in paying anyone to do anything when anyone can make anything for free.
.
I think eventually we’re going to reach a breaking point where society is going to be forced to make a split. There will be those who break under the pressure and see no other solution but to merge their consciousness with AI, sacrificing their minds and humanity to the machine and live in whatever dystopia land comes with it. Then there will also be those of us I think who return to nature, learn to live off the land and survive outside of the advancing technological age that we as humans were not designed to keep up with. We’ll depend on communities whom are also doing the same thing, trade with each other our various skills, and I think that is where we were meant to be. I don’t think that means we’ll have to totally sacrifice all technology and live like the amish lol. But I do think we’re going to reach a point where if we can not keep up and compete with AI, we will not survive unless we start teaching ourselves how to now while we still have time before we get to that point. Learning how to become self sufficient, building relationships and community with like-minded people, and returning back to the ways of our ancestors living off the land is how we’re going to make it. I don’t think there will be any competing with AI unless we sacrifice ourselves and merge our consciousness with it.
.
Anyways, this is just my speculation on the topic. It’ll be interesting to see what most people choose, and I hope with the rising costs of living and the rise of AI that more people will start being smart and start planning ahead now, learning necessary skills like gardening, preserving food, harvesting and storing seeds, and other related self sufficiency skills. Don’t let it get to the point where you become so desperate that you crack under pressure of sacrificing your humanity for the sake of survival.
