I’ve been in a bit of a creative slump the last few days, not really knowing what I want to work on with my site, but also just wanting to put some of my creative ability to use to make money online. I’ve never enjoyed the typical 9-5 grind, and I just want to find something I really love that I could potentially make a living on. So I feel like it’s time to finally get into gear and work on the shop portion of my website. Start selling website layouts, graphics packs, maybe some bookish downloadables, whatever I feel like making when I get this itch to make something but feel stuck. I love working on my site for fun but I’d also like to have a portion of it where I can make money doing something I enjoy. I’ve been procrastinating on doing that because I think part of me feels like if I incorporate some kind of business aspect to it that it will kill the joy of this project for me. I think I’ve talked about it here before in the past too but I also feel like this will be different. I’m ditching the overwhelming business tactics that everyone says you need to do to have a successful business. I just want it to be part of my already growing site, and if I make a buck or two from it every once in awhile, cool! If not, that’s okay too. But at least it is here and part of a project I dearly love and I can add to it at my own pace without all the extra pressures. So I think I’m going to be working on that for the next little while.
