Well damn. I was looking at the Indie Web’s code of conduct today, and isn’t this just a load of hypocrisy. This is basically saying they support racism, sexism, and hate towards anyone who’s not considered a marginalized group. There’s no such thing as “reverse” anything. It’s blatant racism, sexism, or hate towards a specific group of people. It doesn’t stop being those things because it’s towards a group you don’t like. You don’t get to cherry pick and choose which groups of people you get to be racist, sexist, or hateful towards while simultaneously saying “but these groups of people are off limits” lol. NEITHER ARE OKAY. It’s actually astounding that there are people who believe this way. Hate is hate. Racism is racism, doesn’t matter if it’s directed towards a black person, a white person, or anyone else. Sexism is sexism, doesn’t matter if it’s directed towards a man or a woman. And hate is hate, whether it’s towards a straight person, a gay person, I don’t care, NOBODY gets a pass for it, and anyone who thinks some groups should are straight up hypocrites and doing mental gymnastics, plain and simple. Ya’ll gotta be on something if you truly believe thinking this way isn’t in the slightest bit hypocritical lmao what is wrong with you? 🤣
I guess I’m not part of the Indie Web then and don’t support them because how can anyone support an organization that makes an effort to prevent hate for some groups, while simultaneously turning a blind eye at hate when it comes to other groups? They’re cherry picking who gets respect and who doesn’t, when it should be equal for everyone across the board. That’s what actually promoting equality is, which clearly is not what they’re doing here. You’ll never make the world a better place by tearing people down in order to lift other people up. 🤷♀️ Hate only breeds more hate. What a sad state of things that people truly believe this sort of behavior is okay towards anybody.
