Saving up for the Kobo Libra Colour! It’s going to cost a pretty penny but saving up for it is actually helping me get motivated to declutter our place. I’m selling a lot of things I no longer need/use, including a couple of my Tamagotchis which, if you’ve seen my Shrine page, you’d know I’ve been collecting those for a long time and never sold any so that’s how you know this is something I REALLY want that I’m willing to part with a couple. 😆 I have had the opportunity to get other e-readers really cheap, and most book girlies use the Kindle Paperwhite, but I really want something that has the ability to annotate and take notes, specifically because I want to remember and refer back to things in books that have left a great impact on me, as well as for the purpose of writing reviews on my site, and generally just discussing the books with people. I’m a fairly forgetful person, and I can really love a book/series but still forget most of the details and plot as soon as I dive into another book or get distracted by something else. That makes writing reviews a bit difficult by the time I get around to writing them, as well as difficult having deep discussions about a book or series that I really love. I also will not annotate in my physical copies because I don’t want to ruin the resell value of them if I end up wanting to part with it down the line. An e-reader that can annotate is important to me, and color e-readers appeal to me way more than black/white ones do. If I’m going to invest in an e-reader, I want it to be the one I truly want and will use for all intended purposes, even if it means I’ll have to pay more for it. If I pay more for it and it takes time to save for it, I’ll appreciate it more too I think. But I REALLY hate that the stylus comes separately. That was nearly a deal breaker for me with the Kobo Libra Colour, considering I own a Samsung Galaxy tablet that included a stylus. I just don’t think a freaking pen that’s meant to be used with a tablet should be sold separately. At that point it’s just over-the-top greedy lol. Especially when other brands are including the stylus with their tablets. Anyways, that’s my rant for today. I hate that the stylus is sold separately and costs an arm and a leg in itself, but, I have my heart pretty set on this e-reader. It’s everything I want in an e-reader so I’m just going to suck it up and save for both. Here’s to hoping Prime Day has some kind of sale on them. 🤞
