New sidebar poll up! “My Body My Choice” became even more controversial the past few years after the covid vaccine divide. It’s interesting how one can be pro “my body my choice” for one cause, but not another, how contradicting it is on different sides. To be pro-choice for abortion but against pro-choice when it comes to vaccines, and vice versa, being pro-choice for vaccines, and against pro-choice for abortions. It’s quite the heavy contradiction on both sides of our divided society. Personally, I’m of the mentality that if you’re “my body my choice”, it’s across the board. If you don’t want others to take away from your own bodily autonomy in one circumstance, then you gotta at least be tolerant of others who make choices for their own bodies in other circumstances you don’t agree with. Otherwise, it’s hypocritical and none of us really have the right to say “my body my choice”, no matter what cause we stand for, because we don’t really mean it. If we say “my body my choice”, it needs to be across the board, otherwise it means nothing. Just my two cents. 🤷🏻
