My private, password protected iframe page failed. 😆 Not really surprised a lot of sites block it. It just would have been convenient to have all my socials accessible from one place but oh well. It is what it is.
Contemplating making another webring for Tamagotchi collectors. If I do it’ll likely be the last webring I make. Any more than 3 rings will just become too much to manage I think. But Tamagotchi collecting is such a niche community with a long history, and I’ve already come across a few people on the small web who are part of the hobby. I don’t know for sure if I’ll do it yet, I’m just thinking about it.
I finally got around to updating the Fediverse section of the Web Revival page. At some point I really want to redo my “Resources” and “Getting Started” sections as well to be more beginner friendly to folks who have never made a website. I don’t think the web revival movement should be limited to a small niche of people who have some coding knowledge. I feel like this movement should be accessible to everyone at all levels, no matter if they can code or not. It should be easy enough that my older family members could create a website tomorrow if they wanted to, that the folks who have just enough tech knowledge to use Facebook could grasp. I want to figure out how to make that possible, to open the small web up to a larger demographic of people. I see potential in this movement to create such a turning point into how we interact online, and it has so much potential to really be a people’s movement to combat big tech and their abuses. I know so many of my friends are fed up, but they don’t know of solid alternative solutions to entice them enough to leave. I don’t know. I’d just really love more people to learn about this movement, feel inspired to explore it and hopefully down the line, break free from big tech abuse and control.
