Bio
Hey there! I’m Aevisia and I wish you a warm welcome to my humble home on the internet.
This website is everything I wish social media to be. It is fully a space in which I can express myself freely without fear of censorship. This space is wholly mine. It is my creative haven where I can write, design, talk with people, meet and follow others, and just generally be myself. I own all of my content and can choose who sees what, and when. I have everything here that standard social media sites have, plus more. I put a lot of love into this space and it is something I will continue to work on and improve.
We’ve all put up with a lot from big tech monopolies over the years, and it’s been a boiling frog that’s gradually been getting worse. By today’s standard of social media, we find ourselves being told what we can and can’t talk about, our thoughts being overridden by protected opinions (aka “fact” checkers), manipulative algorithms who dictate who’s worthy of being seen and shadow banning those who are unworthy, all the while our private and sensitive data is being harvested and sold to the highest bidder for advertising purposes and whatever other purposes we may not know about.
As a society, I feel like it’s been such a gradual process of continuous and worsening abuses, and for the most part people either don’t notice, don’t care, or feel like it sucks but there’s really no place else to go that’s any better. I was one of the people who always thought it sucked as I paid attention to how bad it has gotten, and it inspired me to seek out alternatives. That’s what lead me to discover the small web, ultimately, and that’s the beauty of seeking change is that if you’re open and willing to step out of the box, you will find great solutions. So while this website is primarily a creative space for myself, I also really hope to inspire others to branch out, try something different from the status quo, and perhaps make a fun, creative space of your own.
Back before social media and big tech monopolies took hold, the internet held a lot more fun, creative, and personal spaces such as this one. People made their own websites, met and communicated with people through guestbooks and webrings. The old web really had a lot of things right. A lot could be improved upon, but the general idea of what the web used to be and still could be, should each of us choose change for ourselves, could really be something beautiful.
With that, I hope you enjoy exploring this web space of mine. If you’d like to learn more about how you can create your own space, check out the Web Revival section of my website!

The older I get, the more I appreciate music that means something or makes me feel something. I think someone’s musical taste can say a lot about them without having to say anything at all. These are some of my favorites, for what they mean, the vibes they give, and the things they make me feel. Have a listen. β₯ I hope these songs make you feel something too! π
